Early Stages
Early Stages continued their Toy Box Universe journey with lots of focus and creativity! In Drama, students progressed with Poem 1, recapping earlier lines and learning the rest with attention to projection, clarity and gesture. They also explored their characters through imaginative activities, building expression and confidence. In Singing, the group learnt the chorus of You’ve Got A Friend In Me, concentrating on tone, diction and projection while adding actions to support storytelling. In Dance, they practised gallops, turns and skips in Corner Work, then recapped Woody’s Roundup before moving into the Super Mario section, using a new ‘blocky’ style. It was a lively session that showed clear progress and set the stage for more exciting work next week!

Stage 1
Stage 1 pushed forward in their Music Video project with energy and imagination! In Singing, students warmed up with new vocal games like “Tomato Ketchup” and “Bumble Tuna,” then continued How Ya Doin’? with focus on pitching, lyrics and expression. In Dance, they recapped the chorus from last week before learning a new section that introduced partner work and freeze moments, adding teamwork to their choreography. In Drama, Stage 1 developed characters for their Music Video through improvisation, linking emotions to storylines while practising listening and response skills. It was a fun and creative week where their ideas began to join together in performance!

Stage 2
Stage 2 showed growing maturity in their Music Video project this week! In Singing, students worked on posture, expression and body language to enhance storytelling, using actions and gestures to support ensemble singing in The Lazy Song. In Dance, they practised balance and pirouette preparation during corner work, before recapping last week’s choreography and adding the chorus with canon for layered effect. In Drama, Stage 2 used improvisation to create a beginning, middle and end for their Music Video storyline, building on the character ideas explored last week. It was an inventive session where they began linking characters and story into a clear performance vision!

Stage 3
Stage 3 continued their Music Video project with ambition and strong focus! In Singing, they explored posture, gesture and expressive confidence, rehearsing A Night To Remember as an ensemble while developing solos with projection and character. In Dance, the group refined balance and strength through corner work, including pirouettes, leaps and frog jumps, before learning a new dance break section. In Drama, Stage 3 deepened their character work, experimenting with backstory and objectives before applying these to improvisation. The ensemble also collaborated to strengthen their narrative ideas. It was an exciting week where their confidence and group connection grew noticeably!

Further Stages
Further Stages made excellent progress with Frozen Jr. this week! The cast completed a full read-through of the script, receiving roles and highlighting their lines while identifying each character’s place in the story. In Singing, they began work on multiple numbers, with tone and expression central to every rehearsal. In Dance, the group pushed forward with Fixer Upper, focusing on sharp contrasts and clean timing to bring the choreography together. This week gave them real ownership of their roles and set a clear path for the production ahead!
