Early Stages
Early Stages continued their Toy Box Universe journey with lots of focus and creativity! In Drama, students progressed with Poem 1, recapping earlier lines and learning the rest with attention to projection, clarity and gesture. They also explored their characters through imaginative activities, building expression and confidence. In Singing, the group learnt the chorus of You’ve Got A Friend In Me, concentrating on tone, diction and projection while adding actions to support storytelling. In Dance, they practised gallops, turns and skips in Corner Work, then recapped Woody’s Roundup before moving into the Super Mario section, using a new ‘blocky’ style. It was a lively session that showed clear progress and set the stage for more exciting work next week!

Stage 1
Stage 1 pushed forward in their Music Video project with energy and imagination! In Singing, students warmed up with new vocal games like “Tomato Ketchup” and “Bumble Tuna,” then continued How Ya Doin’? with focus on pitching, lyrics and expression. In Dance, they refined coordination in corner work before completing the chorus and post-chorus choreography with timing and expressive performance. In Drama, Stage 1 developed characters for their Music Video through improvisation, linking emotions to storylines while practising listening and response skills. It was a fun and creative week where their ideas began to join together in performance!

Stage 2
Stage 2 showed growing maturity in their Music Video project this week! In Singing, students worked on posture, expression and body language to enhance storytelling, using actions and gestures to support ensemble singing in The Lazy Song. In Dance, the group strengthened technique with leaps and safe landings before completing choreography for the first verse with precision and expression. In Drama, Stage 2 used improvisation to create a beginning, middle and end for their Music Video storyline, building on the character ideas explored last week. It was an inventive session where they began linking characters and story into a clear performance vision!

Stage 3
Stage 3 continued their Frozen Jr. rehearsals with real focus and enthusiasm! In Drama, the group developed team-building skills through ensemble activities, discovered their parts for the show, and began blocking several key scenes while refining characterisation. In Singing, they worked on tone and dynamics to create the atmosphere needed for Let the Sun Shine On, then improved vocal quality in Do You Want to Build a Snowman? before exploring In Summer. In Dance, students pressed ahead with choreography for Fixer Upper, tackling fast-paced sections that demanded both technical accuracy and expressive performance. It was a productive week that brought them closer to shaping the full production!
