Early Stages

Early Stages have made fantastic progress this week as they brought more structure and polish to their performance! In Drama, students focused on memorising lines and projecting their individual moments clearly, while also setting the opening and finale sequences for the show. In Singing, they continued polishing Can You Feel The Love Tonight, placing emphasis on dynamics and emotional storytelling, while also bringing fresh energy to Hakuna Matata. Over in Dance, the focus was on performance quality — using facial expression and confident movement while improving spatial awareness and timing. It’s clear how much the group have grown over the last few weeks — their enthusiasm is shining through and everything is starting to come together beautifully!

Stage 1

Stage 1 were bursting with creativity this week as they continued to refine their Oscars pieces! In Dance, the group developed their own choreography further — adding an exciting trick section and learning more about different choreographic styles along the way, all while polishing their I Like To Move It routine. In Drama, they took part in fun new ensemble-building activities like Bug In The Rug and returned to their Encanto-inspired piece with a focus on expressive delivery/vocal tone. In Singing, attention turned to the final section of I’m A Believer, especially the choreography, and how to use dynamics to create a powerful ending. Stage 1 are showing brilliant progress — their performances are becoming more confident, creative and full of character each week!

In Drama, they continued practising their Barbie-inspired devised work — learning how to keep ideas clear and concise while working closely as a team. In Singing, the group worked on the final verse of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, with special focus on the group sections, dialogue delivery and overall timing. Stage 2 are becoming a polished and cohesive ensemble — and their pieces are really starting to shine!

Stage 3

Stage 3 brought energy and individuality to their work this week! In Drama, they had the chance to shape their Knives Out inspired material further by adding comments into speeches and leaning into the melodramatic tone of their murder mystery. In Dance — the focus was on control, timing and body coordination within their high-energy Queen routine — ensuring movements were clean, well-placed and expressive. In Singing, they began staging the second verse of Footloose, using movement and characterisation to strengthen the storytelling. It’s fantastic to see Stage 3 taking ownership of their work — and the result is a set of performances that feel bold, engaging, and uniquely theirs. We can't wait to share them with you!

Further Stages

Further Stages continued building momentum this week with strong ensemble work across all disciplines. In Drama, they focused on group transitions and using facial expressions to elevate their scenes with clarity and emotion. In Singing, students worked on staging and timing for their duet sections — exploring how to create balance between movement and musicality. In Dance, they spent time cleaning both routines, enhancing energy and fine-tuning expression. With each session, Further Stages are lifting their work to a higher level — their attention to detail and dynamic stage presence are setting them up for a powerful final performance!
