Dear Parents,

We hope you've all had a lovely Summer Holiday. We’re so excited to welcome everyone back to Stagecoach for the start of the new academic year!

Whether you’re returning for another term or joining us for the very first time, we have a brilliant few months ahead with lots of opportunities to perform, develop new skills, build confidence and - most importantly - have plenty of fun along the way.

This term looks a little different across each of our age groups, with both Show Terms and a Skills Term taking place across the school. Here’s a look at what’s coming up…

💡 A Reminder About The Parent Portal

You are reading this newsletter on our Parent Portal (www.stagecoachhorsforthparentportal.co.uk). This website is the best place to keep up to date with everything happening at Stagecoach.

By clicking on the 'Menu' button (three horizontal lines in the top right corner as you scroll upwards) , you’ll be able to find important information including Term Dates, Performance Dates (where applicable), Uniform Information, Holiday Camps and other Stagecoach updates throughout the year.

We’ll continue to add new information as the term progresses and so it’s always worth checking back from time to time!

🌟 Our Educational Framework

As we begin the new academic year, we’d like to share our Stagecoach Educational Framework, which helps shape the way we plan and deliver our classes across Early Stages, Main School and Further Stages.

At the heart of everything we do is Creative Courage for Life.

Of course, our students develop their skills in Drama, Singing and Dance, but Stagecoach is about much more than simply learning how to perform. Through our classes, students are encouraged to communicate confidently, collaborate with others, express their ideas, take creative risks, develop resilience and discover what they’re capable of. The framework helps us make sure these wider skills remain at the centre of the Stagecoach experience throughout the year.

You can download our Educational Framework via the below link:

🌈 Early Stages - Trolls (Show Term)

Our Early Stages students are jumping straight into a colourful and energetic Trolls Show Term!

Throughout the term, they’ll be developing their Drama, Singing and Dance skills while working towards a fully costumed performance for family and friends at the end of term.

Their Trolls adventure will include fantastic tracks such as Trolls Wanna Have Good Times, True Colours, Get Back Up Again and September, giving students lots of opportunities to act, sing, dance, explore characters and build their confidence on stage.

Show Terms are always a really exciting opportunity for our youngest students to experience the journey from their first rehearsals all the way through to performing for an audience. We can’t wait to see everything come together!

🎨 Main School - Skills Term

For our Main School students, Autumn is all about developing their skills.

Rather than spending the whole term working towards one production, students will explore a large variety of themes, styles and material across Drama, Singing and Dance.

This gives our teachers the freedom to introduce lots of different challenges throughout the term; from developing performance technique and exploring new styles, to building confidence, creativity, teamwork and independence.

Skills Term also gives students the opportunity to really focus on the process of learning. They can experiment, try something new, make mistakes, improve and discover new strengths without everything needing to lead towards one final performance.

It’s also a fantastic opportunity to really focus on our Educational Framework, giving students regular opportunities to build the skills that contribute to their own Creative Courage for Life.

Our Teaching Team have devised exceptionally varied and exciting Schemes of Work; we’re really looking forward to seeing how much everyone develops throughout the term!

💫 Looking Ahead for Main School… High School Musical!

We are very excited to announce that, towards the end of the Autumn Term, we’ll begin working on our next Show Term production of High School Musical!

Over the final three sessions of term, students will begin exploring the plot, characters and themes in Drama, while also starting to learn their musical numbers in Singing and Dance.

We are beyond excited to begin rehearsals for this iconic musical! The work completed throughout Skills Term will place our Main School students in a fantastic position to take on this brilliant production, ready for performances in March 2027.

🎨 Further Stages - Legally Blonde (Show Term)

Our Further Stages students are beginning an exciting new Show Term as they take on Legally Blonde Jr!

Over the coming months, students will work towards an end-of-term performance while exploring the brilliant characters, music and energy of the show.

Alongside rehearsing the production, students will continue developing their more advanced Musical Theatre skills, including characterisation, storytelling, ensemble work, vocal performance, choreography and stagecraft.

Further Stages is all about continuing to challenge our older performers, giving them greater responsibility within the rehearsal process and encouraging them to make confident, creative choices of their own.

It promises to be a brilliantly energetic term and we can’t wait to see them bring Legally Blonde Jr to life!

⭐️ What A Summer!

Before we completely move on from Summer, we also wanted to say a huge well done to everyone who joined us for one of our Summer Holiday Camps - Finding Nemo, Beauty and the Beast & Annie!

It was fantastic to welcome so many students through our doors during the holidays for days packed with singing, dancing, acting, rehearsing, performing and making new friends.

Holiday Camps are always one of our favourite parts of the year and it was brilliant to see students throwing themselves into the experience, whether they were familiar Stagecoach faces or joining us for the very first time.

Thank you to everyone who made our Summer Holiday Camps such a success!

🐇 Next Stop… Alice in Wonderland!

And the Holiday Camp fun isn’t over yet!

This October Half Term, we’ll be heading down the rabbit hole for our next exciting adventure… Alice in Wonderland!

Students will spend the Holiday Camp (26th-30th October at Gateways School, Harewood, Leeds LS17 9LE) exploring the weird and wonderful world of Wonderland through Drama, Singing & Dance, before bringing everything together into a fully costumed performance at the end of the week.

Full information about the Holiday Camp, including booking details, can be found on the Parent Portal.

We’d love to see lots of our students joining us again!

📆 Reminder - Term Lengths Academic Year 2026-27

Just a reminder that, due to Easter taking place earlier in the calendar next year (2027), we will be unable to fit in the usual 12 Week Term. To make up for this, Autumn Term 2026 will be 13 weeks long (an extra compared to usual) whilst Spring Term 2027 will be 11 weeks long (one fewer than usual). The total fee for each term will not differ, including amounts for our Monthly Payment Plan, to maintain payment consistency between terms.

🎭 Here’s to a Brilliant Term!

There’s so much to look forward to over the coming months and we’re really excited to get started.

Whether students are preparing for a performance, exploring new material during Skills Term or simply taking another step forward in their confidence and creativity - we hope this is a term where everyone feels challenged, supported and proud of what they achieve.

Thank you, as always, for being part of our Stagecoach community.

Best wishes,

Andy Salvador

Principal
