Early Stages
Early Stages absolutely smashed their final rehearsal with flying colours last Saturday! Throughout the session, our students practised in the Performance Space, familiarising themselves with the new environment, readjusting positioning and adapting their projection to suitably fill the area! It was a busy session combining show logistics with material improvements - ensuring all our students feel confident and excited for the Show Day! Early Stages were very pleased to have a few VIPs witness their final rehearsal - not even the heat could stop Early Stages from using every last minute to polish their performance! It's been a fantastic term with so much to celebrate; Andy and the team just can't wait to share with you everything our exceptional students have achieved this coming Saturday! To all our students - be brave like Simba - you've got this!

Stage 1
Stage 1 had a fantastic session this week! In Drama, they shared their favourite films and explored why they connect with them - using freeze frames to retell the stories and even turning one into a mini scene filled with imagination! Everyone really enjoyed performing something personal to them and it was lovely to see their confidence growing as they acted in front of their peers. In Singing, they played Bobbin and the Key to practise rhythm and listening, before learning 'Welcome to the 60s' from Hairspray - complete with creative actions they made themselves to help remember the lyrics. There was lots of energy and joy in the room as they began singing it all together! Dance gave them the chance to show off their kicks, turns and corner work, finishing with a lively routine from Seussical the Musical that brought loads of character and colour to the room. We were especially impressed with how quickly they picked up new choreography during the session!

Stage 2
Stage 2 threw themselves into a dynamic session kicking off in Drama with a fun activity of Werewolf, boosting storytelling and teamwork, then creating expressive freeze frames! They showed a real improvement in their ability to hold strong still images and use facial expressions to convey character. In Singing, they worked on 'Welcome to the 60s' from Hairspray, using Bobbin and the Key to build musical awareness and inventing their own actions to lock in the lyrics. Their enthusiasm really shone through and they’re already singing the first section with clarity and power! Dance was all about stretching, strengthening and sharp timing - with a high-energy routine from We Will Rock You that got everyone moving confidently. The group’s focus, use of expression and musicality are developing really well - these will be important skills for Music Videos next term!

Stage 3
Stage 3 brought brilliant energy across all disciplines this week! In Drama, the group tackled the Werewolf game with fantastic focus, followed by freeze frame storytelling that allowed them to deepen their scene work and collaborate effectively. There was a noticeable shift in the group’s ability to explore character motivation and story structure. Singing included rhythm games and vocal technique, with a spotlight on solo confidence and harmonies as they progressed with 'Welcome to the 60s'. They worked particularly well on blending their voices while still maintaining individual character. In Dance, they explored improvisation and took on a strong, expressive routine from The Prom, focusing on clean timing and bold/punchy movements. Their performance quality and commitment to the choreography were a real highlight of the day!
